Back Bay Mission has seven program areas:

The Center for Community Ministry:  This new extension of Back Bay Mission's ministry develops faith-based leadership in order to more fully equip the Church for creative service and pro-active presence in communities.

Community Development and Social Change: These ministries include the organization of new community services to meet emerging needs and public advocacy work around issues of social justice and concern. Current focus areas are homelessness and affordable housing.

Mission Education:   The Mission assists United Church of Christ members and others in analysis of social justice issues and in clarifying the role of faithful persons in society.

Workcamping:  This ministry has experienced considerable change following the storm. New work teams arrive weekly and are expected to tackle more difficult projects requiring more expertise than ever.

Emergency Assistance: Back Bay Mission directly serves the poor and struggling by providing 1) financial assistance for rent/mortgage/utility relief, prescription drugs, transportation, 2) information/referral services, and 3) case management.

Home at Last (HAL): HAL provides permanent housing and supportive services to homeless, disabled persons.

Affordable Housing: A collaborative effort to resolve the shortage of housing for low income persons in the area.
