Apart from the ballot box, philanthropy presents the one opportunity the
individual has to express his meaningful choice over the direction in which our
society will progress.
It is part of human nature to want to leave a legacy of caring for those persons and those organizations we hold dear. This legacy can begin during life or after death through a variety of financial vehicles intended to maximize gifts and minimize tax consequences for the donor. Back Bay Mission has assembled a team of experts to work with the Mission regarding planned giving and estate planning. They are Dr. Edward Collins, former international educational consultant with Ketchum, Inc.; Dave Comstock, financial planner; Henry Dick, attorney, specializing in estate planning; C.J. Dunaway, estate department of Peoples Bank; Dean Fletcher, CPA. The Mission also works with the Financial Development Ministry of the United Church of Christ for investment management and advise purposes. However, any person considering making a large gift to an institution should consult their own team of professionals - attorney, accountant, financial planner, and banker. Back Bay Mission holds an array of helpful brochures to assist persons contemplating a planned gift as part of their estate planning. To receive a brochure or to learn more about planned giving opportunities for Back Bay Mission, contact Maria Watson at 228-432-0301 or e-mail mwatson@datasync.com. |
