In-Kind Gifts
In addition to monetary gifts, there are many meaningful ways to support Back
Bay Mission. Following are a few suggestions:
- Donate back-to-school supplies for needy children: colored
pencils,
scissors, pencils, paper, glue, book bags, etc.
- Send personal care kits for distribution to needy persons
through our Emergency Assistance program. Personal care kits normally consist of
the following items: washcloth, bar soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo,
deodorant/anti-perspirant, adult underwear, adult socks, razors and shaving
cream.
- Sponsor a toy drive through your church or workplace to help
us make Christmas a little happier for low-income children. Back Bay
Mission provided Christmas gifts for over 450 children in 2005.
- Volunteer! Organize a youth, adult, or
intergenerational group to help restore low-income housing through
our workcamp program.
- Volunteer as an individual to give of your time in a
number areas of need such as the grounds and building maintenance,
or general office tasks. If you are interested in volunteering but
require lodging please contact Don Morgan at 228-432-0301 to inquire about
availability.
- Receive training in our workshops, seminars, and community forums,
addressing key issues and needs of society and the Church. Come as a sabbatical
resident.
- Donate a car, boat, or other items for resale to benefit the
Mission.
